One of the biggest sources of unsustainable and landfill-bound items in the home is the plastic we keep our food in.

We have two variations in our wax wraps: Beeswax wraps and vegan wax wraps.

While the choice between the two is typically determined by lifestyle or religious beliefs, there are some important differences if you are deciding between them.

Vegan Wax Wraps

Our Vegan Reusable Food Wraps use plant-based Candelilla wax and non-GMO Soy wax. They also contain tree resin and jojoba oil and use natural cotton. This means they’re cruelty-free and completely vegan.

The combination of these ingredients results in the wax wrap being flexible, self-sticking, and unscented.

Candelilla wax is normally two-times denser than beeswax, so this may mean the vegan wrap is less pliable than the beeswax wrap. The vegan wrap also can’t be easily mended with additional melted wax, unlike beeswax wraps.

Soy wax is a renewable resource, so using it in this wrap means an environmentally-sustainable product.

The tree resin and jojoba oil also provide additional properties. The tree resin provides natural antibacterial properties, while jojoba oil is a natural fluid plant wax and is anti fungal.

WHAT SIZE IS BEST FOR MY NEEDS?

We produce several sizes of Vegan Wrap. If you are new to our product, we recommend starting with our assorted set of three sizes, which includes one each of our small (7″x8″), medium (10″x11″), and large (13″x14″) wraps. Experiment with these in your kitchen to determine which size is most useful for you.

Our Sizes:

Small: 7” x 8”

Wrap half of a lemon, the end of a cucumber, half of an onion (Vegan Wrap won’t hold the smell), half of an avocado, a small bowl, carrot sticks or other snack items.

Μεσαίο: 10” x 11″

Cover a bowl, half of a sandwich, baked good, cheese, or half of a cabbage or cantaloupe.

Large: 13” x 14”

Cover a large bowl, pie dish, celery, cheese, sandwich, or half of a watermelon.

Bread wrap: 17” x 23”

Great for wrapping bread, large enough for a large loaf of sandwich bread or specialty breads. This wrap is great for covering dough that is rising, an extra large bowl or casserole dish, and also serves as a dough mat for rolling out pie crusts, cookie dough or other baked goods.

Baguette wrap: 14” x 26”

Perfect for keeping a baguette fresh – it keeps it the crust a little crusty and the inside soft. We also love this size for wrapping stalks of celery.

Sandwich wrap: 13″ x 13″

Perfect for building your sandwich, wrapping and then using as a place mat.

(Also great for cheese, snacks, a few carrot sticks, a muffin — the possibilities are endless.)
