Walnut shells for brass cleaning is a hard and fibrous product made from crushed walnut shells in accordance with International Trade Standard. The walnut shell blasting medium is ground to various sizes from coarse to extra fine depending the application, allowing for a fine degree of control over the desired finish. Walnut shell is used as an abrasive blast media similar to sand for cleaning, but without the negativities associated with other abrasive materials. Because walnut shell blasting is a gentle, non-corrosive environmentally friendly method of removing foreign matter, coatings, paint, suciedad, grime, mold and smoke residue from almost any surface including metal, madera, aluminio, latón, stone, vaso, fiberglass, el plastico, masonry and tile without scratching, etching, pitting the substrate material / underlying surface or marring cleaned areas. When used as a blasting media, walnut shell grit is extremely durable, angular and multi-faceted, yet is considered a ‘soft abrasive’. Walnut shell blasting grit is an excellent replacement for sand (free silica) to avoid inhalation health concerns.
