Plus de 100 years ago, Alamance Foods, Inc., had humble beginnings when R.W. Scott began selling the extra cream and butter that he churned primarily for his family. Dans 1927, Ralph H. Scott expanded his father’s business and established the Melville Dairy. The Melville Dairy quickly became a major provider of milk, butter, and cream to the people of Alamance County, North Carolina.


Dans 1959 Melville Dairy was selected as a franchise producer of a revolutionary new product, Aerosol Whipped Cream! Alamance Foods (AFI), was established as a separate company for this exciting new product, making us one of the first producers of aerosol whipped cream in the United States.

In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, AFI expanded further by entering into the manufacture of flavored drinks, freezer pops, and bottled water. Our “Triton” brand water was the first multi-pack water in the nation. AFI has pioneered many additional inventions over the years. Our fun packaging, proprietary flavors, and excellent service record have made us the #1 selling freezer pop in America.

Today, the AFI employees are fully committed to offering our customers a consistent and food-safe product at the lowest possible cost. Our service and innovation are 2nd to none.
