SmartGlasses “RP” and Tablet with RETIPLUS softwares (including “Digital Optotypes”, “Visual Field Template” and “Visual Scanning Template” + “Digital Eye Tests” to set several “views” into SmartGlasses.
Specifications
RETIPLUS uses the SmartGlasses front-camera (1) to capture the image in front of the patients eyes. Our proprietary algorithm manages the video image captured by the camera in real-time to be processed by the Controller (3) according to the specic patient vision condition. Then, the video image is projected on the SmartGlasses displays (2), superimposing a computer-generated image on a user’s view of the real world, thus providing a composite view optimized for maximizing patients vision.
RETIPLUS for PERIPHERAL VISION REDUCTION (“tunnel” vision)
Certainly, RETIPLUS helps low vision persons with peripheral field of view loss (glaucoma, RP, hemianopsias, ..) optimizing his/her remaining vision, so they discover wider fields of view creating a new and amazing visual perception into his brain, as images come and merge together and whole visual scene happens into his remaining vision area, thanks to the elasticity of the brain. Moreover, Patients are able to walk visualizing the existing obstacles enhancing the spatial orientation thru the SmartGlasses by means of bioptic vision or via scanning vision. RETIPLUS not only helps the person with low vision, but also the Specialists because RETIPLUS facilitates the communication with the patient for knowing how patient sees, and realizing the “digital eye test” for optimizing the patient remaining vision in cases of FOV loss as: • Glaucoma • Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) • Hemianopsia • etc So, RETIPLUS SYSTEM is a very efficient device those Pathologists that drive to FOV reduction on which magnification devices are useless.
RETIPLUS for CENTRAL VISION REDUCTION (central scotoma)
There are very efficient magnification devices as visual aids in cases of central vision loss (DMAE, Stargardt,…). However, those are only valid for reading and static usage. In these cases of central vision loss, RETIPLUS SYSTEM is also an interesting tool for the Specialists. RETIPLUS allows the analysis of functional aspects of the PRL (Preferred Retinal Focus) as complementary meaningful information after the computerized microperimetry, for informing to patient in a positive way (showing where he/she sees) and moreover, as eccentric fixation rehabilitation system for following pathologies: • Age related macular degeneration (AMD) • Diabetic macular edema and retinopathy (RD) • Macular puckers • Macular holes • Central serous retinopathy • Stargardt’s disease • Choroideraemia • Central retinal vein occlusion • Macular telangiectasia • Inverse Retinitis pigmentosa (RP)
