Uhmwpe is one of the best materials available for polymer production. 1. Resistance and durability to impact, friction, corrosion and chemicals: Excellent impact resistance, even at low temperatures. 2. Weight reduction of each component: That’s because uHMWPE has a gravity of only 0.94, which is lighter than water and only one-seventh the weight of steel.In terms of cost, uHMWPE per cubic inch is only one-third that of steel.It is easier to process and therefore cheaper. It can be polished,drilled, sawed and so on. It is suitable for many purposes. 3. Abrasion resistance: Abrasion and wear resistance is very good, and has a strong resistance to fracture stress.Its wear resistance is excellent among all thermoplastic polymers. 4. Coefficient of sliding friction: Uhmwpe is superior to steel in sliding applications because of its very low coefficient of friction.Its high smoothness reduces the damage caused by thermal friction, which is very serious for steel.Ultra-high molecular weight products in the application without lubricating oil, easier maintenance, equipment operation more stable and low noise. 5. Sound resistance (static) performance Because of its durability and impact resistance to friction, UHMWPE has better sound resistance than steel and is less likely to absorb liquids. 6. Electrical insulation performance Due to its high resistivity, UHMWPE has excellent electrical insulation performance. 7. Corrosion resistance The unique properties of UHMWPE make it effective in many conditions, such as resistance to friction from other substances and wear and tear from environmental factors, such as low temperatures below zero centigrade and sand and gravel. 8. Zero water absorption performance Because the water absorption index of UHMWPE is almost zero, there is no size change when UHMWPE is used in water.In addition, UHMWPE has no pores and no organic plastic additives, which effectively prevent the growth of bacteria.
